The 8-hour Initial Guard Card course is the only course required to begin work as a Security Officer in California. However, two additional courses are required, one within 30 days and one within 60 months of issuance, in order to maintain Guard Card and remain in compliance with B.S.I.S regulations. A total of 40 hours of training is required to complete Power to Arrest training.

This course satisfies 32 hours of training
